Labor Day weekend is not about shopping for me. I like to take time an savor the lasting warmth of the sun on my skin, feel the breeze on my face, admire flowers. One great benefit of living in the Willamette Valley is that we have very distinct seasons. You can enjoy the three months of summer, and know that the overwhelming heat and thick air pollution will be replaced by the crisp Fall air.
I swam in the pool. Which was a little chilly for Yogi's taste. We got some sun lougeing too. I ate BBQ food. We took a long hike to Sellwood. Enjoyed life.
Which is good. I am getting tension headaches from being at work. Things are going well, but I feel as if I have gone from pitching for the Little League, to hitting in the Majors.

La Carreta Mexican Restaurant
Greetings!
I am in an interesting mood today, as it is my last day in the office for my old job. It is 10:30 am, so far so good.
I was driving to work this morning and noticed that La Carreta had moved their glaring spelling error from one side of their three-story-tall sign to the other. For those of you not familiar with La Carreta, it is the can't-miss-it Mexican restaurant on SE McLoughlin Blvd (map). My sister and I remember driving by this place every time our family went north from our then residence in Milwaukie.
The sign reads "Now Hirring"
Apparently they are only hiring people who can't read. English may be the second language for the person who posted the sign, but I would hope another staff person could correct it.
I almost pointed it out to the host when Yogi and I ate there. But then I didn't want to be "that" person.
I thought about it, then realized that it was still legible. Funny how we have standardized spelling now, but that wasn't always the case.
I would eat there again. Now there is cliche Mexican AND Chinese (Yummy Garden) close by.

A week since
It has been such a long week since I last posted.
I am 100% moved in to my new place in SE. Kat is getting mad at me for being
locked inside, but seems healthy and happy.
The movers laughed at me when they saw the amount of stuff I had
and found out that my apartment was a one bedroom of 451 square feet.
But it all fit! Now I just have to disassemble the mountain of boxes.
